• Clive Staples Lewis November 29, 1898 in Belfast Northern Ireland
• sent to Wynyard school in England.
• won scholarship to University College Oxford
• was elected a fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford
• became a christian one evening in September
• married Joy Davidman Gresham in secret civil ceremony
• brought up in a very strict, religious household
• his mother died when he was nine years old
• died of osteoporosis
• died at 5:30 p.m. 1963, one week before his 65th birthday on Friday, November 22
